@wfyurasko: glad you had a good time at Mnut.  I was there that day too, but with friends and their kids who were beginners, so didn't get to ski that much.  Massanutten has been my home mountain for several years (driving up from Raleigh, NC).  The vertical off Lift 6 is almost the same as the total vertical at Whitetail.  But on weekends, not having to worry about a lift line all day makes a huge difference on how much skiing an advanced skier can enjoy.  Even more so on a holiday weekend.  I sometimes ski into the lights, which is not an option on the Highlands at Wintergreen.

You were smart to avoid US340 and stick with I-66 to I-81 all the way to Harrisonburg.  A friend took US340 one time when driving from DC.  Scenic but slow.
