Anyone see the accuweather forcast for Snowshoe today? Says they were expectings temps in the 30's and 1-2" of snow before turning to snow/rain. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's not snowing right now while it's in the 60's up there.

Did I mention the 13 degree windchill?

How'd that blunder come about?

I remember being pelted by graupel for about 5 minutes hiking on Hawksbill in the Shenandoah NP in mid sep.  That's at about 4000', Snowshoe is 1000' higher.  Let us know when it's skiable. :)

Blowshoe is at 5K now?  I did not know the earth was thrusting up that much.

I have, in years past, had 6"-8" of snow on Oct 12 while bow hunting on Pharris knob.

Sure SS is 5000' Scotty....u gotta measure from the top of the highest building now...its part of the mt now! I walked on snow last week up around 12000' at the Rocky mt nat park in CO...Aug snow...a first for me!....talked to some folks who had hiked up to CO's highest peak where they ran into actuall snow falling and showed pics as proof....jus say no to global warming!....oh...had a few days up at my canaan camp in july with lows in upper 40's and highs in low 60's....
