It appears that Tline might have started up their guns this past weekend.  Can anyone confirm this?

Appears to be correct.  See for yourself.

7 springs and whitetail both say they are ready to go on their Facebook pages.  Let's see if that means the guns go on tonight.  Curious if 7springs goes for opening the weekend before thanksgiving.

Neither resort has lights on so i dont think they will start tonight. But seven springs can definetly start when ever the want. Whitetail can start on Thursday/Friday  depending on humidity. Blue knob has good temps aswell but i doubt they will try now.

It appears SS guns are going right now (Wed 8:45 PM).

Also - they use to process their cams thru resortcams.com but the cams were down for a few days and now they seem to be run by Citynet.

Looks like it is (or soon will be) time to ass Seven Springs to the list.  On their Snow Report today (Weds., November 12):

Great news! Now that cold temps have returned and will be hanging around for awhile, snowmaking will begin tonight! If weather patterns hold, the guns could be fired up into the weekend. Plus, we have natural snow in our forecast for Sunday through Tuesday. Last season, we made enough snow to fill 1,000 football fields with one-foot of snow and we're hoping to break that record this winter!

Be interesting to see if 7S actually fires up the guns. Their home page says that the guns are going on tonight and links to the webcams... which are completly dark right now as said above.

Hidden Valley posted a pic on Facebook @ 10:15 of their gun(s) in action so I'd assume 7S is doing the same.

From WINTERGREEN:

WINTERGREEN, Va. (Nov. 13, 2014) ”” Armed with one of the world’s most sophisticated snowmaking systems, Wintergreen Resort officials announced today it would begin snowmaking operations tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 14) ”“ the earliest start date ever at the property and nine days earlier than last year when the resort experienced a banner season.

The glacier they still had on the 5th of April, 2014 at Wintergreen:

From the Wintergreen FB Page.  They are hoping to get the Highlands open for Opening Day.

"We're putting the final touches on improvements for the 2014-15 season. We plan to start snowmaking tomorrow, the earliest ever! It's going to be a BIG opening this year - Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. We may even have Highlands and The Plunge open! More excitement - possible snow this weekend."

Whitetail pa has the lights on. 7s does not. Also winter place in south get wv started up their systems today. I still dont think whitetail is gonna make snow probably a test run.

CV appears to have some impressive snow cover while pumping the guns.  Nothing better than having a few drinks watching webcams.

Sure beats the living HELL out of watching / reading anything about that Kardashian whack job.

Hidden valley is looking pretty good as well. 7s appears to be fighting water issues still and lights are off so I'm guessing that is going to go into tomorrow.

I guess they're trying to keep up with the Jones.  Hope they don't use up all of the $ in their piggy bank.

My impression is that every ski area in NC, VA, WV is blowing snow today.  At least for testing if not quite ready for prime time.  Gonna be a lot of open slopes on Thanksgiving weekend, with quite a few places the weekend before.

Sugar plans to be open to the top this weekend, which is pretty unusual for mid-November.

Wintergreen blowing. Seven springs is blowing. Camelback. And winter place in souther wv has massive piles of snow. I still think one of the snow time resorts should blow . Also liberty tested their snow making today.

It's too bad liberty or whitetail didn't go tonight. But the temps for the weekend are kind of marginal. Hopefully they will go for the 72 hour cold spell coming in next week to give a chance for a thanksgiving weekend opening. In the meantime I'm eyeing openings for next weekend closer to dc than sugar mountain or Canaan. Right now I'm thinking 7springs/ hidden valley have the best shot within 3 hours. But I'm guessing that will be more clear come Tuesday when the next cold spell hits.

Canaan has flipped back to snow now. NWS forecast shows snowmaking temps non-stop for the next 118 hours. Guns are already in place...

Whitetail claims they are going tonight as well. I would assume roundtop would be going too.  I'm glad to see them get started, the forecast for next week has some warm days

Webcams this morning (Nov. 18) and online announcement show that Whitetail is indeed blowing.  Liberty says they expect to begin sometime this morning.

Git 'er done!

It would be cool to have one web page / small site that displays current images / live feeds of all the "DC Ski" resorts.  It is a little cumbersome to open each resorts website and find their cam.

DCSki used to have a page with access to a number of local ski area cameras.  I don't think it's working anymore.  Scott, help??

That site was better when they did not have ALL that advertising stuff plastered on every page.  I'm all for monetizing a web site but that seems a bit much (IMO).  Plus, I'd like to see PA resorts.

This maybe a nice weekend project for me and my son to put a bare bones page together.
