Sorry to hear this, but very grateful for the fine service the store provided over the years.  It had become my go to place in recent years for gear for myself and family.  Best wishes to the owner and I sure hope the great staff finds a happy landing somewhere else.

JK - I think you just found a retirement career.  Stop all that powder chasing and sell skis !

Bummer... Their staff is amazing.

So who is going to swoop in and buy the store?

If anyone knows where the great staff winds up I hope they post it on DCSki at some point.  Speaking of "the Brians" and others.

I lived in the DC area and moved to Williamsburg but still pay them a visit every trip I make every few months and go to them for their expertise as well as purchases. It's the best all-around place I've been to in the mid-atlantic.

Anyone got any loose change lying around, like a few hundred thousand?

From Stuart Kahane in the article

" I am ready to retire, and looking forward to findng someone else to carry on."

The inventory is the biggest initial investment. Items may be sold below cost. Buying the whole lot would probably be even cheaper ;-}
