I'm thinking that there are folks around DC Ski who have had a good time riding the Supreme lift at Alta.  The ride will be quite different after April 16, 2017. As announced on Alta blog on April 2, Supreme and Cecret will be replaced during the off-season.  The new Supreme lift will start closer to Alf's and finish along the existing Supreme lift line. Like Collins, it will have an angle station that includes a mid-station for beginners to unload. The lift will be a high speed detachable quad, so no more conveyor loading. While the ride time will be shorter, the Alta GM Onno Wieringa said "The detachable lift technology does not necessarily mean that we will be transporting more skiers up the mountain. Our operational teams determine "people per hour" depending on conditions."

For technical info about the new lift:

All Alta lifts will close on April 16.  Work related to removing the two lifts will start on April 17.

EDIT: Peter updated his article on 4/3.  No midstation.

"Update 4/3/17: I’ve learned the angle station that was initially planned for beginner offloading was eliminated and the 8.4 degree angle change will instead be accomplished over numerous towers."
