KSL to manage Blue Mountain

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet. This potentially could lead to more of a presence for Ikon Pass. KSL Capital Partners is the parent company for Alterra. Whether they add them to the mix will be interesting.

While KSL Capital is a major partner for Alterra, the company that is going to manage Blue in addition to Camelback is not the same company.  At least not exactly.  KSL Resorts has a portfolio of multiple resorts but most of them are beachfront properties in Hawaii.

For more speculation about how the change at Blue will impact eastern PA:

This PA article from May 11 has the title "Blue Mountain brings on partner; owner of Camelback to manage Lower Towamensing resort."  The fact that building a hotel at Blue has been of interest for quite a while may be a factor for the change in the approach to operations management.
