About 2" in Richmond so far. We should be up to 5ish by the afternoon.
I heard a forecast of 10 inches for DC on NPR this morning.
Massanutten started snowmaking at 6am. They expect round the clock snowmaking for a couple days. Potential re-opening on Wed. I don't arrive until Sunday. :-)
Currently in Mclean NoVA. Already 5+ and still dumping
About 3" here just north of DC, and seems to have stopped From the way the storm has tracked from the south headed east, would appear to not have benefited most mid-atlantic resorts that are open. Massanutten got some benefit, but is not open.
However, with suddenly better snowmaking conditions, would expect all resorts to be running systems at full capacity and this is now a great test see who can deliver the goods. By next weekend, should be drastically different coverage.
No snow in Lancaster or Harrisburg but it has been freezing and windy all day
I was up by Harrisburg, would have stopped by Tussey if they were open by sadly they are closed until Thursday due to lack of snow & repairs to beginner chair. Hopefully they all can make a lot now that it is cold
A relative reported 13" in Spotsylvania County about 75 miles east of Massanutten. It's possible Massanutten did quite well?
We got about 8" inside the Capital Beltway in my section of NOVA.

Today was devoted to shoveling snow, but I hope to breakout my XC gear tomorrow for some skiing through the neighborhood.
Barely 1/2 inch fell here in Winchester VA - the very northern tip of Virginia’s portion of the Shenandoah Valley. But about 7 miles to the south, Stephens City VA received a few inches.
Woody
There is a building collapse in Ocean City, NJ going on now. Not sure if there was anyone hurt or not.

Been in contact with the relative that lives in Spotsy, no electric. In fact, 77% of Spotsylvania County VA is currently without electric power. Several nearby counties are at 90% outage! They got 12-15" of very heavy, sticky snow and wind with Fredericksburg, VA being pretty much the bullseye. Electric repair crews from as far as Missouri called in to assist. There are motor vehicles stuck along I95 between Richmond and DC for almost 24 hrs.
Here are the totals being reported by SkiSE for the Jan. 3 snowstorm.
Some of the overall snow totals were just flat-out impressive considering it only really snowed for five or so hours.
Beech Mountain, Massanutten Resort, and Sugar Mountain were the big winners as the three resorts received a total of 8″ of natural powder.
Winterplace, Wintergreen, and Omni Homestead each received around 5″ of snow from the system.
Bryce, Ober Gatlinburg, and Wolf Ridge each finished with 4″.
Gatlinburg was hit particularly hard as the wet snow and wind combined to bring a number of trees down – including shutting down the two main roads into town. Some peaks around the town received 9″.
Snowshoe ended the event with a fresh 3″ of snow.
The Valley got half an inch at most, I believe. Storm missed them.
Had to make a rescue run to relative in Spotsylvania County. He'll be staying with us a few days in NOVA. This is Route 3, a divided highway near Wilderness, VA, 4 Jan 22:
Oh my, I'd heard that the Frederickburg area was bad.
