Driving North for snow next weekend. How far do I need to go?
Vermont?
 New York?
Maine 😁

If New York, need to go north of Albany for sure.  The Catskills are done.  Whiteface is having a pond skim next weekend.

Probably not worth picking a destination until midweek.

VT has plenty of snow right now but resorts are winding down so be sure you know what will be open and working before you make a drive and before you buy lift ticks. For example: Stowe will be open til April 16 BUT they will stop running their Gondola and all Spruce side lifts at end of today. Officially they will go two more weeks but only 1/3 the resort will actually be working. Might be worth the drive...or might not. I'd expect similar closings at other resorts.

If I could be anywhere on east coast now I thibk I'd be at Sugarloaf. Reggae fest this coming weekend. They have a wrap around pass deal going on too.

These resorts seem to have the most open terrain. Just check to see what their closing date is.

Okemo has much more open than Stowe at this point.

Edit to add: Sugarbush will open 10am for first chair until end of season (instead of usual 8am). And Mt Ellen side is closed for season. Yet today's day ticket was, if purchased today, $139.....

Apparently the three NY ORDA mountains are selling tickets until April 16.  For Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre the best place to find out about conditions is NYSkiBlog.

74 trails still open at Killington.  Snowed 5 inches on 4/1.

Find the white snow, and ski in the shade. Hit blues and blacks.

Plenty to keep one happy for 2+ days.

My 2 cents, WTH, I'm skiing ABasin this weekend!

The Legend!

So, Vail changed the name of this lift? 😂
