I stumbled across an interesting web site recently:

NELSAP attempts to chronicle the history of defunct ski areas in New England and around the world. Unfortunately, there are no entries for lost Mid-Atlantic areas yet, but perhaps this will change soon.

The site brought back many memories. I skied here as a kid:

The 175 foot vertical felt big! My humblest moment was falling off the chair lift trying to disembark one day. I was a little too eager to hit the slopes that day. :-)

Also, I vividly remember my ski setup: red wooden skis with metal edges that my father bought for me at a local ski swap, and my mother's leather ski boots (spray painted black).
