i am planning on skiing at sugar mountain next weekend (feb 8,9)i am relatively new to the atlanta area. i know that from past ski experiences in the colorado and vermont area it is not difficult to find discounted or specials on lift tickets. any hints on sugar mountain discounts?

I went to school at Appalachian State so your back in my neighborhood. However, it has been 13 years so I'm not sure if this is still accurate info.

The Food Lion in town used to sell discounted tickets and the Valle Crucis General Store (on King Street in Boone). I'm sure there's still places around.

Appalachian State is in Boone and Lees McCrae college is in Banner Elk. I'm sure someone is still selling discounted tickets.

I believe the ski areas of NC got a nice snow dump about a week ago. Along with the rest of the "banana belt", they are having a great season.
