We are a small family owned company, but www.visitcanaan.com will keep you posted all year long with updates from the valley and surroundings.

Canaan Resort doesn't have any base left.
Whitegrass is currently pretty in green.
Timberline has several slopes with an okay base (at this closing day).

Closer look for TLine
Possible 10+ inches in the next two days. Worthless without base...

Slopes you can hike up
Here is the recommended hike-up list:
Lower Whitelightening
Upper White Lightening
Lower Thunder
Upper Thunder (60 feet of grass showing at the top)
Lower Thunder
Upper Thunder

Who is hiking up Monday and Tuesday?

Keeping my eye on Weds morning if the storm works out.

Here's a rough development of the snow amounts according to the NAM model, and assuming 10:1 snow:water ratios. I think this is slightly conservative.

http://wxcaster4.com/animate/eta40km_loo...amp;height=1180

As usual, the bulls eye is over Snowshoe, but the Valley should do OK too.

Help me understand, this map shows accumulation through Thursday noon?

It's going to keep changing as time moves on, and will always show accumulation for the next 84 hours from the most recent model run. Times are GMT, so subtract 5 hrs for us.

Think of it this way...
TLine had a base and the white stuff falling out of the sky is making it like... well: Winter.
It's going to be a cold day tomorrow (Tue) but there will be snow falling all day (on/off).
That means skiing better than on closing day!
I'll be there early in the morning before classes - but if I had the choice, I would show up there at about 2pm.
I'll have updated photos on www.visitcanaan.com by late day Tuesday.

Tell them you need more time to see how positive approach to outdoor sports (in the snow) affects introduced anti-bodies... and go skiing.
Did you see the photos? Did you see what you could potentially be missing otherwise?

I'll be there.

Great picture of Davis! At first glance, I thought it was a picture from somewhere in VT.

There might just be enough to ski WG... but it may be very marginal after one skier - there was no base before all of this started and the ground was rather warm.
Keep an eye for Wed afternoon! It looks as though a few more inches will also fall.

Recap:
Ski Wed morning.
Ski Wed afternoon.
Ski Wed all NIGHT.
Stay home during the rain of Thursday!

Crunchy... well, look what you have been missing at Timberline:
www.visitcanaan.com

Actually, it wasn't as good as I expected. I chose a good line, I am happy with it - but I expected 5 feet of powder...
On the other hand, get your snowshoes out of the closet: Make the hike on Timberline, and then into the sods. What ever location you start from, you'll be amazed at this morning's beauty.
Choose your tool - wisely.

Hope you guys & gals had a blast!
