Specialty Ski and Snowboard Stores Seek FT and PT Associates, Cashiers, and Technicians
(Falls Church, Chantilly, Gaithersburg)


Ski Chalet is seeking full-time and part-time employees to work in one of our three DC Metro area stores; Falls Church, Chantilly and Gaithersburg. The ideal candidate will be a skier or a snowboarder with a strong work ethic and pride in customer service. Prior retail experience in a specialty store is beneficial but not required. This is an excellent opportunity for an area college student, someone seeking a second job, a teacher or a parent, or a retiree returning to the workforce. We are specifically seeking individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, some skiing or snowboarding experience and a willingness to work a flexible schedule. Full time associates should expect to work at least 30 hours/week including some evening and weekend shifts. Part time associates should expect to work at least 15 hours/week including some weekend shifts.

Ski Chalet will provide training specific to one of our departments; apparel, equipment, rentals, or service shop so that you will be able to properly assist our customers with their clothing or equipment needs. After an intensive training period, new associates will be expected to have a full knowledge of our products and processes and be able to manage multiple tasks and/or help multiple customers simultaneously.

Job duties include:

-Interact with customers to help them select the appropriate equipment and apparel
-Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of our products (boots, skis, snowboards, bindings, apparel, accessories, etc.)
-Receive, manage, and restock inventory within and among stores
-Perform light housekeeping duties

Job requirements:

-Must be reliable and punctual
-Must have High School diploma or equivalent
-Must have some ski and/or snowboarding experience
-Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and spend significant time on your feet
-Must be detail-oriented
-Must be friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused
-Must be able to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
