Wisp or T-Line, Sunday
FreshPow and Denis Win
Just cked out the weather Denis....now we know the rest of the story!..stay safe..and have fun......
Headed to Snowshoe in the am with the 34 y/o wife, 30 y/o sister, 4 y/o daughter, 4 m/o son, 69 y/o father, and 65 y/o mother. The first 3 (plus me) will be skiing, the latter three will be holding down the fort in a 4 BR townhouse. We'll be there for 4 days, but knowing the pace everyone moves at, probably won't wind up skiing tomorrow (I have a season pass, so am somewhat hopeful I can get out for a couple of runs in the PM).
At Massanutten for our usual few days the week before Christmas. Snow making in progress on the upper mountain in the afternoon and near the base by dinner time. Upper Showtime should be open Saturday. The base on DJ is deep and frozen.
Skiing with friends Sunday and Monday.
yeah, well, it's snowing in Durham right now and I have good coffee and xmas cards to address. it's not tigne or even massnut but its not bad. have fun yall.
Very nice conditions at Massanutten on Sunday. Sun was out by mid-morning. Not that many people realized it was worth hitting the slopes. Was warm enough to keep the snow soft but not too warm so should still be good Mon morning. Showtime (Upper and Lower) was good all day. DJ was great in the morning, then a bit slick. Plenty of base everywhere.
Hey MarzNC- funny seeing you here too....
Wintergreen on Sunday afternoon. It was nice having a trail in the Highlands open.
Wisp on sunday was nice, warm. Cage was nice in the morning got trickier in the afternoon (leading to quite the 1st spill on the season for me) Whales on the Face, Greens were sugar snow. Snowmaking on Boulder/Beaver and the North Side.

Hey there! This is more or less my home turf since Massanutten has been my home mountain since 2004. My recent forays up into New York and New England will only last a few years while I have other reasons to be drive north during ski season.
Got to Val disere france Friday before Christmas and leving today. Got there after a 20 cm dump. And I am leaving before a 60 cm storm:( already have a foot at the door! Fingers crossed that the busses cant get up the pass.
We will try to get out somewhere in North Carolina or Wintergreen, VA this Tuesday or Sunday the 4th. I'm booked at home for the 31st and 1st. The other dates look like it will rain. so TTuesday is probably the best day around here.
