Did you know Hannah Graham, the second year student who went missing at UVA one week ago was an avid skier? Hannah was born in the United Kingdom, but moved to Virginia when she was 5. She is a graduate of West Potomac HS in Fairfax County, VA.  UVA Class of 2017 president, Abraham Axler said that as a member of the UVA ski team, “she bowled friends over heading down the mountain wearing a flapper dress and draped in a Union Jack flag, a nod to her British heritage.”

Students have described the atmosphere around the University of Virginia campus as tense since the disappearance of Graham, who was an active member of the Virginia ski team and ran the group’s social media accounts.

“Things have been pretty unsettled,” said third-year student Joe Pittman. “At the library last night, everyone was making sure every person had a way home. It’s never been like that.”

It sounds like Hannah’s got a little bit of the British bulldog spirit of Eddie the Eagle.  Let’s hope Hannah turns up safe.  Michael Edwards, better known as Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, is a British skier who in 1988 became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping.
