It's the first time since 2011 that the area has made it to Independence Day.

There will be lift-served skiing at Snowbird on July 4, 2019 too.  Has happened before in 1995, 2005, and 2011.

From the Snowbird website:

• Snowbird is open for summer skiing this weekend, June 29-30, as well as Thursday, July 4. The Tram and Little Cloud lift will run from 8 am - Noon.
• Guests are able to access Hidden Peak via the Tram and ski the Little Cloud Bowl area and lift only. All other areas of the resort will be closed and guests will need to walk back up to the peak to download on the Tram.

I guess lots of people want to ski the basin on July 4. No way I'd be in that crowd.

Amazing. The pic is changing as time passes. It is an A-absin webcam pic that is apparently accessing the  webcam feed. I suspect it will be black by 10 tonight. For those that don't see the pic untl later, it showed IMO upward of a thousand people waiting for their turns at Black Mountain Expres.
