Snowshoe Mountain Resort puts the focus on safety this winter by including helmets with all youth rentals. A new restaurant will open, and Snowshoe is also providing guests with an opportunity to save a few bucks.

Recognizing that the economy has some skiers strapped for money, Snowshoe will be offering some ways to save money this winter. Every Snowshoe-owned restaurant will offer at least one complete meal on its breakfast, lunch and dinner menus for $9.99. Guests purchasing lodging through Snowshoe this winter will also receive a coupon book worth $1,000. The coupon book will include discounts on shopping, dining, and adventure activities.

Taste of Asia, a West Virginia-based restaurant, will add a fourth location directly at Snowshoe this winter. Its menu will include Chinese, Japanese, and Thai favorites. In-house dining, take-out, and delivery to Village lodging units will be available.

This past summer, Intrawest resorts, the parent company of Snowshoe, announced its commitment to improving safety on the slopes. As part of that commitment, Snowshoe will now include a helmet rental in all youth (12 and under) rental packages. All youth lesson participants (as well as instructors) will be required to wear a helmet during private and group lessons at Snowshoe. All Terrain Park and Freestyle lesson participants will also be required to wear a helmet, and Terrain Park staff will wear helmets while on duty. Helmet rentals for skiers and riders of all ages will be available at all Snowshoe rental locations.

Snowshoe will begin using the state-of-the-art Head BYS rental system this winter. This rental system allows guests to go through the fitting process more efficiently. Rentals can be pre-booked on-line or over the phone.

Ate there last weekend. Really it isn't another restaurant, because Taste of Asia is on the site of the old Bistro, which closed down in the Spring of '09.

I will give it another chance before really doing an in-depth review, only because this first time it was a disaster. Customers had to stand up and look for silverware and chopsticks themselves. Service was a giant vacuum cleaner noise...
