The advantage of north facing slopes and a ton of SMI Super Polecats...
Most importantly, a phenomenally dedicated professional crew of snowmakers that take every advantage of every opportunity to blow primo Potomac Highland Dreamflakes (TM).
Yes, absolutely, hats off to the owners for the investment and to the snowmaking crew for crushing it!
That is an impressive number of Polecats in a short distance. Hats off to Timberline for a smart Invesment. I guess that is what is needed to keep snow on the slopes in the mid-Atlantic. Certainly north facing helps..

Maybe the title of this thread should be "The advantage Perfectly north-facing slopes."
Considering they lost a ton of trails today, it's not enough of an advantage. That's not a knock against their ops team, either - they did very well to hold everything open as long as they did - they held on longer than Snowshoe.
Skied at TM yesterday. They’ll likely reopen all the closed trails by next weekend.
But don’t expect any new terrain open for a bit longer, unless a large coastal storm happens to hit soon.
