A half-day at Canaan Valley

I got my whole family on skis this past Saturday. It was either their first trip or first in a long time. For me, it was a bit of a tease and conditions were not great. READ MORE

There's more on the blog post. I added a READ MORE link. It wasn't a big report though, it was more of a day to get my family back on skis.

Thanks for the report on the blog.  Sounds like the conditions I experienced at 7S this weekend.  A fair amount of ice and thick slushy patches.  Despite the less than ideal conditions, fun was had.

Q: What is a death cookie?  I'm relatively new to skiing and wondering. Thanks, John

Sometimes affixed to the surface and have been known to redirect your turn.

Got it and thanks.  I came across a field of them on Wagner at 7S and told my wife that I would rather have the ice cubes with a whisky but not skiing.  I had one of them grab my ski at about 20 MPH and did not like that at all.
