Hello forum members...Any on-mountain report on either resort today?  Thinking about taking the kids out for a few runs tomorrow but want to get a feel to see if the extra hour drive to Cannan is worthwhile considering the limited terrains available at both mountains. TIA

Depends on what type of trails your family skis.  There are three ways down from the top at Massanutten now and two are blue, but harder blues.  Have you ever skied Massanutten?  If your family enjoys Upper Showtime, than driving less would make sense to me.  Otherwise, the smaller crowd at CV could be better.

MLK Day itself is usually the least busy day during the holiday weekend.  But a little hard to predict now that group beginner lessons for adults and children are available again.  It was clear there were more beginners on the base lifts this weekend because they were stopping much more often than the last couple of seasons.

I started skiing Massanutten last Wednesday, Jan. 11.  Once the snowmaking got going again, the trails have been pretty good.  Even better today after day time snowmaking on Saturday on the upper mountain.

Thanks MarzNC for the detailed mountain report. Will definitely give Massanutten a try this season for sure (unfortunately, didn't see your report early enough and have missed the chance to get to the mountain early for first chair this morning). Been reading all of your reports for Massanutten, and you have been a great ambassador for the resort. Thanks
