Heard that the blackwater river? that serves Caanan and Timberline is pretty low. any ideas on how that will affect snowmaking?

Due north,  Somerset county in Pennsylvania, which includes Hidden Valley and part of Seven Springs, has issued/instituted a burn ban for the next 30 days due to the dry conditions.  These conditions aren't typical for this time of year (usually wet and clammy, maybe some snow here and there)...

Obviously anecdotal, but I mountain bike on Laurel Mountain quite a bit and the "lakes" they use (one really is a lake, one is more like a water retention pond) for snowmaking are really, really low.

We finally had rain last Sunday and more coming today.  But it would take a lot of precip to get levels to normal.

TBH, at other resorts (Vail specific) like 7S and HV, I don't know if they have the capability to use city water if they want to.

no city water available at Laurel. City water at HV costs more than plutonium. Springs has sources everywhere but some of those are low
