I was looking at historic imagery of lost ski areas and was poking around Shawnee land when I noticed this on the backside of the ridge near some camps. In one photo theirs is made snow on the slope, and at some point even had the ponds expanded in size. Seems that construction started in late 90’s. Any ideas? Small tubing hill for the camps?

Pretty sure this is, or was, the snow tubing hill at The Cove campground over that way.  Read through the FAQs here

Based on descriptions in the Lost Ski Areas posts, I think Shawnee Land ski hill was located at the area by Patowmak Trail and Duwamish Trail in Shawnee Land, not on the other side of the mountain at The Cove.  You can also look at some earlier historical imagery and see it more clearly than this 90s image.
