Hello- any experience or advice appreciated! I am consider a departing flight from Reno airport at like 6am and shuttles don't run that early. I was quoted a price of ~$235 for the one way (assuming it is like a 3:45am departure) from Tahoe Thunder taxi. Uber and Lyft allow for pre-booked, pre-scheduled rides but what are the chances a driver actually picks up that ride? Other thoughts? Rental car already considered.

Thanks!

There is a very simple solution - get a hotel in Reno the night before the departure. And from OV to Reno airport for a 6 am flight, 3:45 is cutting it way too close. Weather, road conditions, etc. Any attempt to get from OV to airport in the middle of the night is a dumb, dumb idea.

Agree with the hotel in Reno, or switch your flight to after lunch if you can.  Then options open up.  Enjoy your trip

Another vote for staying in Reno the night before.

That's what I ended up doing on a trip to north Tahoe in the 1990s.  A big storm was heading over the mountains.  I had a rental car so leaving my friend's condo a little earlier than planned was an easy decision.  Flight schedules ended up pretty scrambled.
