You would think this will get resolved sooner rather than later.  Every business, VRBO etc...will be impacted big time.  The various threads in reddit say the owner is a real jerk.   But usually there are two sides to every story.

Yes I'm heading out there this year, starting my Plan B.... Get off the plane in Denver instead of going to Montrose, my Epic pass will work as t Keystone and Breck, hopefully would be able to find a place to stay.

When are you going?  In general, the amount of open terrain at Colorado resorts is still very low.  Under 25% in general.  I checked out Copper and Winter Park Dec. 15-17 after my usual week with retired friends skiing Wolf Creek.  My ski/travel buddy and I opted to leave a day early given the spring conditions on very limited terrain, just a few frontside groomers.  We stayed in a motel I like in Dillon, the Best Western Ptarmigan.

It will take 2-3 snowstorms to get Colorado back on track for the 2025-26 season.

2/25 thru 3/2.  So hopefully the snow will get on track by then.

 Certainly hope so!

I have a tentative plan to head to Crested Butte in late January.  However, in the case alternate travel arrangements were also made for another region, which is doing much better at this stage.  My ski/travel buddy for this trip works full-time and is mid-career as a research scientist, so the idea was for her to get the vacation days approved but we'll be the best of two options based on snow conditions only a week or two beforehand.

Colorado snowpack is at historic  lows. California on the other hand is getting hammered. Mammoth closed for a few days because it had too much snow and significant avy hazard that could not be cleared in an expedient way.
