I'm getting emails about season pass sales for next season already. For a few independent ski areas out west, the lowest price will only be offered for a week or so.
Here's what Wintergreen is sending out. Deadline is March 23, 2026. Presumably the same type of deal exists for Wisp.

Tangentially related, to plan season passes for next year, do people have recommendations for the "best" ski resort ~2 hours from DC? I've been to Massanutten which I thought was pretty good, but never been to Liberty or Whitetail.
Will most of your skiing be on weekends? Or is midweek an option at times?

Midweek is an option. ~2 hours away makes a day trip convenient, for longer weekend trips I've been going out to WV
I'm a bit biased because I chose Massanutten as my home mountain over Wintergreen for assorted reasons. That was before the recent addition of upper mountain terrain and upgrade to the summit lift. I drive from central NC and always stay overnight. The Massanutten Special Value Pass is worth considering. The Mnut SVP is good Sun-Fri, only Sat 9am-4pm is not included. The SVP was $440 for this season if bought during April-May 2025.
I've skied a few times at Whitetail. Have only looked at the base of Liberty during the off-season. In general, the walk from the parking lot is longer for Whitetail and Liberty than Mnut. With a pass, booting up at the car and getting on snow to ski down to the Creekside lift (over Southern Comfort) without passing through the lodge is possible.
Ikon pass prices will go up after April 16.
Epic pass prices probably go up a little sooner, although the Epic homepage only mentions that the number of Friends Tickets will go down after April 12.
Massanutten only posted prices for season passes for Tier 1, which ends May 31. In recent years, they posted all the prices and deadlines from the start. The fact that Massanutten property owners or timeshare owners get a discounted rate is much clearer than before.

For years now, Massanutten offered a true courtesy pass season rate for 70 years and over seniors. No more... (Now 78 and over)
That has now affected a fair number of a group that we often get together.
