I don't know for how much longer

reddit.com

And the Colorado winter  disaster  ends today with both A-Basin and Loveland closing. For the first time in at least 30 years Loveland did not make it's normal closing day of the first Sunday in May, and I do not remember a season where A-Basin did not make June.

What's different for ABasin is that they won't be open for Mother's Day.  I know people who have made it an annual tradition to be there on the "beach" that day.

Meanwhile Jay Peak is keeping plenty of folks who live in New England or NYC happy.

Well, ABasin changed their closing date.  Getting a little snow made a difference I guess.  The party is on for Mother's Day, May 10, 2026.

Here's the report from the Jay Peak website about the next couple weekends in May.  They are offering a $139 weekend lodging package for 2 people that includes lift tickets.

SNOW REPORT

WEDNESDAY MAY 6 AT 1:53 PM

Jay in May

Spring skiing is staying on the menu.

Jay Peak will run Jet-only operations this weekend, Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10, then bring it back again Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17. Lifts will from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM both weekends. Sunday, May 17 is scheduled to be the final day of lift operations for the 2025/26 winter season.

Please note, Jet-only operations mean terrain will be limited to advanced skiing and riding. Guests should be comfortable on advanced terrain before heading up.

This weekend’s lift tickets are set at $55 for Adults, Juniors, and Seniors, with Toddlers at $44. Value Passes are valid, too.

Saturday looks cloudy with some sun trying to work through and temps in the 50s. Sunday looks similar, with some morning sun and any rain holding off until overnight. Dress for spring, keep expectations loose, and come ready to follow the coverage.
