Wednesday is a big day in winter history. Puxatawney Phil, the world-famous groundhog, will be making his appearance in Pennsylvania outside of his hole.

Legend states that if he sees his shadow he will dash back into his hole in preparation for six more weeks of winter, but if he does not see his shadow spring is certain to begin within the next few weeks.

So, will a sunny Wednesday give us six more weeks or will the sun be occluded and spring come early?

Admitedly the forecast call for clear and sunny, so he should see his shadow. But how could he not with all the TV lights shining on him?!! The Colonel
