I know the whole debate over the theroy of global warming continues to rage on in the other thread, but with that aside. It's just friggin humid outside. I can handle heat. Heck I remember in the 80's days in July with no rain and it being over 100. This is nothing. However it's the darn humidity.

Anyway, I digress. I know that my snowboarding addiction and love for snow runs so deep that when I was mowing our 3 acre yard, I got zoned out on the mower. Next thing I know I looked behind me to make sure I was still mowing in straight lines, when the first thought came to mind and nearly out my mouth, "Wow that groomed sno... grass looks great".

Dang it, I want snow.

I can actually live with the heat, it's the humidity that kills me. I feel like I'm swimming in this constant pool of sweat and sticky water. I simply refuse to work in the yard or do anything when it's like that.

Right about now is when I'm wishing I invested in a New Zealand ski trip.

Off topic, does any resort offer paintball on their slopes? I'd like to give that a try this summer.

According to Wisp's website they have a paintball course...I am assuming that they have paintball of some sorts there. You could travel on up to the north central part of WV..My friends and I are always playing!!!

I hate the heat. It mystifies me that the population of the US continues to migrate into the hellish deep south and southwest. This past winter, we had maybe 5 weeks total of real winter weather, yet I was constantly reminded what a "hard" winter we were having. I don't get it....Back to the A/C and my dreams of snowflakes falling endlessly to the ground.

I dont get it either, someone should tell old people that heat kills more of them each year than any other weather event. Whats Ironic is SLC is warmer, sunnier, and less humid than pittsburgh, but yeet the skiing is better. With world class skiing closer than any other city in the country. I honestly dont like bone chilling temputures the only reason I put up with them here is I much rather ski than do anything else. Out there I dont think cold temps even in hte dead of winter be a problem.

I really dont fit in this town when it snows, I am literally am wearing a smile all day people think I am crazy(I am I guess lol). If someone says something about how bad the roads are today, elect. I turn into the kindest asshole, with a smile on his face you d ever seen. Normally I respond with "Its great, the roads are fun to drive on, if you dont like it no one is forcing you to live here"

I checked out their site today and it shows motocross races going on. It also looks like they are regrading and reseeding the new slopes added last year. Although it'd be interesting to see what type of paintball wisp runs. Do they give you guns and you do whatever... or are there actual catpure the flag games, etc? I'd love to have something setup where strategy and military style play go into affect.

Once again come on up to the Clarksburg area....Sometimes we play speedball (like you see on TV) and it only takes 5-10 mins per game...other times we go into the woods and a game of capture the flag may take 3 hours....Some of the guys we play with love use "military tactics" and games like that usually are interesting....either way the paintball is AWESOME!!

David,

I'm going to need full out recommendation for what guns to look at getting that are worthwhile as well as accessories. Somehow that teeny tot pump action paintball gun i have may not cut it.

Ever since I was growing up playing cowboys and indians in the woods at my grandmas with my cousin, military tactic style play has always been my favorite. I would love to join in a game where a team uses strategy with it's players to advance and conquer area by area, surround the enemy and do asmuch action with out being seen. Vs the whole charge em till you are shot.

How far is Clarksburg from Wheeling? My cousin lives there and if it's close I could just drop down from there.

As far as guns go I have always perferred guns made by PMI. I believe that they are some of the most reliable guns out there. They are also extremely easy to take apart right in the field if you would happen to need to. Check them out online ( http://www.buypmi.com/ ) and find one that is in your price range. Also check out this site ( pbreview )You can look up and read consumer reviews on any gun/acc. that has anything to do with paintball.

Wheeling to Clarksburg (according to mapquest.com) is a shade under 2 hours....

Does discussing paintball guns have anything to do with skiing in the Mid-Atlantic? I'm gonna tell Scott on y'all... (you better say something quick about how adding paintball to ski runs would make the Mid-Atlantic skiing experience even BETTER for DC Skiers, or ask KevR for advice)

*playing james bond theme music in the background*

I'm going to be snowboarding down off White Lightening in a tux and cumberbun with paintball gun in hand picking off T-Lines patrole after I ducked a rope only to pop up a mini hang glider from my backpack and soar over top the lodge...
