tele rentals between DC and PA
March 1, 2007
Anyone know of any places around DC or on the way to Whitetail that rent tele gear? The rentals at the Whitetail sports shop are nice, but I'm getting tired of paying $20 for 2 hours. Thanks!
I believe the Ski Center has some.
Whitetail is having a tele day on Sat. 3/10
i'll look into that
thanks
Unless its a money thing, I've always felt that best way to go with tele is to fully committ to it and buy the equipment. That way you wont' waver and fall back on your alpine stuff. Sometimes Chip at Whitegrass in Canaan Valley sells some of his demo stuff at the end of the year at cheap prices. Also, telemarktips.com has a forum for people selling used stuff.
Oh, by the way, the Tele Festival at Whitetail is scheduled for Sunday March, 11 not Saturday March 10. Hope to see you there. They have a fantastic lineup of tele-instructors coming in. Truly some of the best teachers on the East coast.
Chip is advertising that everything is on sale now at WG. Would probably be a great time to check out Whitegrass and pick up some good gear at good prices.
From the website: STORE WIDE CLEARANCE: From now until the end of the year every single thing is up for grabs and make us an offer on anything. Everything Must Go!
Agreed. However, I just bought new skis (volkl 5 stars) at the beginning of the season and they will be hard to part with. I still haven't figured out why tele bindings are so expensive.
For the record, if it's in Chip's rental/demo fleet, it is for sale, no matter what the date on the calender says. I also think that any demo/rental fee you pay to test something out can/will be credited towards purchase....
Any info on the telefest at WT? I don't see it on their website.

Are telemark bindings more expensive than alpine bindings?
