There is a pretty interesting expansion taking place this summer at Brian Head ski area in southern Utah. See link to story from Firsttracks below. I've never been there, but it is supposed to be a real pretty area and not too crowded. However, believe it draws people from as far as Southern California due to good vibe and high elevation of terrain.

nice report my buddy in vegas is stoked since that is his "home mountain" since its within 3 hours from vegas. Pretty area as is most of utah, and seems relatively unknown because its not in SLC i guess. its gets a little less snow, but the elevation is the same as alta/bird and a wide variety of terrain. there is some cool pics of the work here: http://www.brianhead.com/interconnect.html

i have been to brian head. this expansion is nice, but even better would be lift service to the top of brian head peak.
