Only upside? Free lift tickets extended through December 6/7.

From an e-mail:

With the recent snowfall and excellent snowmaking conditions, Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort plans to open the slopes for the season on Friday, November 28, 2008 and remain open through Sunday, November 30. Hours for the opening weekend will be 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The resort will close the slopes December 1 through December 5, and reopen Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. Skiers and snowboarders will receive a special gift from Hidden Valley, as there will be no charge for ski tickets.

While the newly-expanded snowmaking system has been operating and building a suitable base, the resort has chosen to delay opening by a week to complete the many projects and improvements for this winter season. In light of this delay, Hidden Valley is pleased to extend the free skiing offer to skiers and snowboarders from November 2008 to include the weekend of December 6 and 7, 2008. In addition to the free skiing, Hidden Valley will offer 90 minute group ski or snowboard lessons at no charge to guests age seven and older through December 19, 2008. The free lessons are subject to availability. To take advantage of this incredible offer from Hidden Valley, guests will be given a complimentary ski ticket at the ticket sales window. All guests must have a valid ski ticket while they enjoy the slopes. The resort's rental shop will be offering their new fleet of Elan skis, Dalbello boots and Atomic snowboards at regular rates.
