Would you believe Tyro was totally brown on Friday morning? They started up the guns for a short while (3-4 hours) while I was there, and I have a feeling they did not run again before you saw it. Hope that will be open soon -- it's a fun trail.
skier219, I thought you had a venture out west coming up soon? By the way, conditions at Alta are awful...tons on snow this week, only a 90" base!! The Colonel

Next week! Right now, it looks like the weather will flip-flop east to west when I am out there, in fact it will be colder at Wintergreen than at Alta most days. How's that for timing? Unless I see some snow in the forecast out there, I will leave my fat skis at home and bring something narrower.
It's the only way I will ski Wintergreen, except maybe in early or late season when the weekends are still not too bad. I lose interest in the place quickly when the slopes are crowded and there are lift lines. But on weekdays, it's almost like a private ski club. Probably not more than 50-100 people on the entire mountain for most of the day. Toss in a $200 season pass, which I normally get 10-15 ski days out of, and it's pretty compelling.
