JimK, I notice that Winter Park's website shows a April 19 closing date.
Anybody know the closing dates for other western resorts?

Crystal Mountain, Washington State is getting dumped on with another 1 to 2 feet by tomorrow...(I used to live up there but was too poor to buy some worms for fishing let alone a ski pass)...they have recieved 130 inches of snow so far this march & have 401 for season...they ain't going anywhere soon!

Moonlight Basin is next door to Big Sky, MT. Nice trees, empty groomed terrain and some gnarly hike-to chutes. A Big Sky/Moonlight Basin combined pass is available (kind of like AltaBird) and it's easy to ski from one resort to the other.

Thanks Andy but no dumpage, they blew the forecast. We had rain mixed with sleet until 11:30 a.m., then it turned to sleet for about an hour, now it's a mix of sleet and snow and we've all got our fingers crossed the power doesn't go out. I was *thinking* I'd be cross-country skiing today, no such luck, just frozen roads and that's about it.

Garden City, on the other hand...

Generally, resorts out west close because of Forest Service permits. Generally, you can hike them and ski them even after they close. Some places close because of critters- Big Mountain Montana for instance closes the first or second week of April because that's when the grizzlies come out of hibernation. Gives a whole new meaning to "lunch break" up there! shocked

Hey Comprex..isn't that just wind surfing without the sail fixed to the board?..where's the harness?....looks like a workout holding on to that sail!
