Which resorts are open?
December 14, 2009
As the ski season appears its going to take off in the next two weeks, how about a rolling list of Mid A lift accessed ski areas that are open in order of who opens first...I know snowshoe opens today...I probably need help on who opened first catalooche or sugar, so jump in to change my order...special note that Whitegrass in Canaan Valley was the first Nordic center to open on the entire East Coast!!!
Who's open in order of first to open:
1. Sugar (11/28)
2. Catalooche (11/28)
3. Snowshoe (12/5)
Wisp will be open by next weekend, if not earlier. I went riding there yesterday and there was almost enough snow on Wisp trail to open it. They cranked up the guns last night. Won't be long now.
Thanks for the update...but lets keep the list for actual openings to the public(not for poachable terrain
)...afterall we want to keep true to the dc ski ouevre of "scientific"...
I have authenticated my original list:
1. Sugar (11/28)
2. Cataloochee (11/28)
3. Snowshoe (12/5)
Beech Mountain Resort--new official name instead of Ski Beech--opened this morning. Appalachian expects to open Dec. 6.
???
Watch out, you may be excluding the Hoi polloi if you start talking like dat.
Had to match your big word with another big word! Wish I knew what it all meant...
