I am going skiing this weekend (Saturday). Me and my kids. The rain should be gone but wondering where to go. T-line, CV or wisp as I will be visiting family about 1 1/2 from each. I did wisp and t-line last year. After having not been to either for at least 10 years. T-line was exactly as I remembered but much more crowded and thus lift line were painfully slow. Wisp skied much larger than I remembered and the crowd was large but lift line and lifts moved much quicker. I am just wondering if CV is worth a try. The WV slopes are much cheaper so with 2 kids I almost save another lift ticket (any discounts out there?)

Canaan will have the lowest costs.
Timberline shouldn't have THAT bad of lines.
Canaan should have less lines at the lifts.
Timberline will have more vertical.
Though choice. I'd say go to White Grass - between both.

downhill only for me. How are the terrian parks in the valley? Don't need anything big but the kids love the small boxes....

Timberline always has several small boxes in their terrain park. I'm not sure if the rope toe is up yet in the terrain park or not? It took them a while to do it last year.

...just went for a snowmobile tour of the terrain parks at t-line this afternoon...the little jib park has some friendly boxes and rails to play on...the dew drop park has some really nice jumps with, great shaped take-offs, that have a great rhythm and there are some fun rollers at the bottom....props to the park crew at t-line this year!!!now the hard part-maintaining the shapes in the mid-a freeze/thaw cycles is always a difficult battle...if you have some little jibbers I would recommend t-line in the valley...

excepting the park scene, i would go to canaan. cheaper, even more laid back, and not always 95% open as they are now. weiss meadows and dark side, baby.

however, the plan is to be at wintergreen tomorrow. see ya.

It's a hard call.
Timberline has (clearly) two terrain parks; one with large jumps that is way fun.
Canaan has a few boxes here and there... and I personally witnessed tiny little small kids having a field day on them.
Check out the snow report here: with PHOTOS.

In a rush? seat back and look at the 10 scrolling photos on the home page.

Either way, there will be sun Sat - wake up early and enjoy.

Ended up at CV. Wow, no crowd, I mean zero wait at the lifts. We had a great time. I kept checking to make sure it was Saturday.

The terrain park does leave alot to be desired. One jump 2 boxes and a rail just does not qualify. The park shown on the trail map off Wiess was not there. Roundtop, Wisp, Liberty and Whitetail are all way more on the ball on this front.

Next up Hidden Valley and 7springs..

Canaan should have the Terrain park up and functional this week. Sorry for the delay. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the mountain and the awesome pics that Ludovic is taking.
