Had a great day skiing at Wintergreen - I'll be curious to see what they say on their snow report tomorrow, but I'd guess they had 8"+. Temps were pretty cool with 4 degrees in the morning and high of only around 12 in the afternoon, but it made for some awesome light powder. There was definitely a some ice coming through in the middle of the slopes and visibility was a little rough with the snow they were making - but overall an AWESOME day skiing the midatlantic!

Probably going to drive up from Raleigh on Sun. Do you think we'll have any trouble with the roads? Going with someone who has 4WD.

Nah... definitely not with 4WD... the roads were actually a lot better this afternoon then they were in the morning.

No issues with the drive from Raleigh on 1/31. Snow pack on US29, but completely clear on VA151. 4.5 hours instead of the usual 3.5. Managed to get a parking spot near Discovery Place even though we didn't arrive until about noon. Started a bit later the usual to avoid too much driving in the dark.

No school around our house today.
