the annual ground hogs day ski headed out from white grass around 930am in search of the local cabin mountain groundhog "cabin john".
headed out timberline trail and up forest road 80 for the first stop at cabin mountain knob.
on cabin mtn knob. looking south, that is bald knob in the distance. a different view of white grass than you usually see.
we then skied around and off the back of cabin mtn down to head into the dolly sods.
now in the dolly sods wilderness...some really nice skiing all over. wearing eye protection is crucial if you value your eyesight when skiing in the bc.
getting late in the day, we all made is safely back to white grass for a final stop at one of the shelters where we parted ways as some wanted to ski trails down and some wanting to maximize vert.
the master of ceremonies heads down. we never found "cabin john" so that means months more of skiing here!
snow was a bit warm and manky, so harder to ski, but better for the base! happy winter
