I swung by Whitetail this afternoon, and the slopes were in fantastic shape. A little soft (the snow last night was moist, and the temp climbed into the upper 30s), but no complaints whatsoever. Light crowds too, although there must have been some school systems out as there were some kids around. The lift line never had more than 15 people in it, and was usually ski on. Really a fantastic day. I do wish the parking lot wasn't so muddy though. It would be great if they could pave it.

A bed of straw every so often would be even better, not so many environmental issues as paving.

Don't hold your breath on that Scott. That kind of money is much better spent on the mountain. Whitetail does make an effort through the season and offseason to smooth the pot holes and spread down extra gravel here and there. Alas, the best cure for mud is a good freeze. If it bugs you that much, try the parking shuttle. Real skiers have heavy duty floor mats. cool

Scott if you want to see a really nice parking lot maybe you would want to join us at The 3rd annual blue knob gathering February 19, 20, 21. That would also give us a wonderful opportunity to discuss the effects of [censored] on gravel parking lots and other crap grin ,
