Last time I went to Wintergreen Sunday afternoon after a good snowfall it was an absolute zoo. What do people think will be a bigger factor this Sunday - will crowds be larger with people looking to take advantage of the snow, or will they be smaller because it is Super Bowl Sunday?

Thanks for your guesses!

The $64,000 question. I was at WG on a "normal" Superbowl Sunday a couple years ago and crowds were not bad at all. But the fresh snow could be a draw or a roadblock? Hard to say.
I may go to Seven Springs on Sunday, IF I can get out of my driveway. blush I'm hoping those Western PA folks are such big sports fans they'll be home watching the game even if their team's not in it for once. wink

NWS/NOAA is now predicting 2-3 feet for Annandale! Looks like the clean-up mess will be worse than after the December dump.

Usually Super Bowl Sunday has fewer crowds. If we get the anticipated amount between 20-30 inches through tomorrow, I think the crowds will be relatively sparse simply because folks will be stuck in their neighborhoods.

Hoping the roads will be passable tomorrow. I will be taking my Hungarian bud up there provided we can get up there. Even on a Zoo Sunday crowds tend to thin out around 3:30. Bad thing is they will have torn up the snow by then. Good thing is with the cooler temps all day maybe it will not be too icy at night so you could hang after dark.

Highlands close at 4:15 so if you are planning for the afternoon that is something to consider as well.

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem from the way things looked on the VA DOT cameras this afternoon.

How about coming to Mnut if you plan on skiing late? DJ and ParaDice were great tonight after the lights came on. The 4-5 inches of snow today was powder. On top of 16 inches from Friday and Friday night.
