The Valley has pulled off Another footer with Snowshoe only cking in with 4 inches...SS will kick in the upslope 4 barrell as well as Canaan so we are in for part 2..till fri morn!
167 for the season so far for Canaan which sits the valley right up there or over Stowe & just behind Jay Peak & just whuppin the Deer valleys & Vails in the world!(I know..for now). You cannot beat Jay..that Mtn IS the snow magnet king! As these Snow storms pull off the coast & ride up to the Canadian Maritimes they kick back moisture towards Jay..Back to the Valley..167 so far with more on this storms backside & even more at the end of this presidents weekend...& it looks like it will keep on gettin it thru Feb...200 inches looks like a snowshoe in!..250??

PS..the wind won't be too fun today & tomorrow...great weekend coming up!

Ah, last night's snow is that light and fluffy kind. That stuff is never any fun to ski in. It just flies everywhere and makes a big mess. smile smile wink

yesterday afternoon/evening it was heavy wet snow with temps around 32 until late. thats when the driving is the worst actually. (plain ole super cold snowpacked roads are actually very stable for an awd) But temps dropped over night and back to fluffy. another 9-13" for today says noaa? dayum! my entry for the canaan total snowfall pool this season is 235. some people went bigger!

I remember 95/96 very well & I think that the 237 amount is too low..I think that there was someone up in Davis that recorded about 275 for the year & there was a liftie that worked the top of the lift at Timberline that claimed he counted 320"'s for the year!....As of 7 pm Add another half foot to the foot that will add to another.......Stay tuned!

PS..about 178 by tomorrow Morn..

Today was sweet at Tline. A foot plus everywhere, fresh tracks all day long. It never stopped snowing today, but the skies really openned up around 1:30pm. We probably got 4-5" during the day. One of the quietest ski days I've ever had. I'll post some pictures later. Tomorrow should be sweet.
