No but i rode the lift last Saturday with tgd and his daughter. That little girl has turned into quite the skier. We got off at mid-station and by the time Tom and I said goodbye she was bopping down through the trees, no way either of us were gonna catch up.

I have been slammed with work, and my minimal free time has mostly gone to traveling and skiing out west (8 days at Alta). Have gotten 6-7 local days at WTG since Dec. I hope to concentrate my efforts on skiing WV "like it's my job" in March (traditionally the snowiest month -- keep your fingers crossed). I have had enough of air travel for a while, and want to put in a lot of days at SS and/or TL for the rest of the season. Hope to see some of you guys out there.

If a lot of you are like me, I don't take a connective device with me to the WV Apps. No time. I've been too busy going downhill the past three weeks. The Mrs. and I have been on the snow 12 of the last 15 days. Up to 36 days for the season now. BTW, did the Drop, OTW, and the draft at t-line yesterday and WOW, soft forgiving powder bumps. Turned my legs into jello. The base in the trees is bottomless. It'll set up by the end of the week with more pow-pow predicted everyday starting tomorrow.
Actually, this past weekend was bigger than both the holiday weekends with crowds. We even had liftlines.

Ha, ya the canyons blowd pretty good that day.

Good to ski with you again E, high speed groomers you still ski too fast, bumps not too many, little bit of bushwacking nice pow, good tour. How about the patroller flicking the rocks off the trail with a hockey stick?? John and i even found some untracked under the dreamcatcher after you went back to work.

yeah pretty cool wasn't it - glad you found some-thang on Dreamcatcher - always the way to go. Hope you caught some of that powder on Friday before you had to jet out.

It's for real isn't it - Mary sez next time damnit give us a little heads-up so she can ski too instead of grocery shopping.

Maybe next tine we all should do the heli-skiing thing with the powder birds - if we get a dump soon i think i will fork over and try it.

And johnL - hee good to see you too .. like I said, I can spot your turns 1/4 mile away (well that was about the distance up kestrel when i saw you).

me ski fast? nah - well always.

Hi all.... Just spent almost a month at Snowshoe, some with family, some with friends. I will have a report, but dang it I wish doing links or pictures on this site was less cumbersome...

Ya Crush, great skiing with you again. We made the most of the few inches of new.

You know Jimmy and meself, Kings of the Last Second. At least we called you this time on the drive up, instead of from the Gondi. And I still had your phone #, as for Jimmy...?

Instead of heli-skiing, I think there is a cat skiing (BC?) trip in several of our futures. Next year?

You and Mary need to visit the valley next year before your Utah excursion.

My appologies to M my bad, but ya, Kings of the Last Second says it pretty well.

Had some freshies Thursday at brighton lots of fun i really like that place, tried some new stuff following JohnL around.

Found plenty o snow at Park City on Friday. Got my a$$ kicked first run in Jupiter Bowl, waaa waaa i quit, but went back for more everything worked out ok, there are friends on a powder day.

I hate the traverse but what's at the end is sometimes worth it.

You know what A - L - T - A stands for?

Another Long Traverse Ahead (Local joke especially favored by Snowbird skiers.)

But I've never been disappointed at the end of the traverse.

We haven't worked Jimmy up to High T yet (or the backside to High Boy.) Those are pure joy. Maybe next year. We took a couple of Mr. Toad's wild rides at Solitude. The traverses at PCMR weren't too bad, but they just sucked the energy out of you at the end of a pow day.

Some of the traverses in Utah are tougher and sketchier than the trails they lead to.

I wasn't today. Devil's Castle @ Alta opened after being closed for a week.

cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Doing three of those *traverses* (with plently of side-stepping, climbing and billy goating) was a beyootch, but resulted in best.runs.of.my.trip. I just let the skis rip. In addition, the rolling terrain below the Castle is pretty sweet. (Got cliffed out on the first run, didn't let that mistake happen again.)
