Thinking of buying a used pair of K2 crossfire ski
February 22, 2010
Yesterday I demoed a pair of K2 Apache Crossfire skis at Liberty and really liked them. Well, I liked everything except the price. Looking online, I found a pair of used Crossfire demo skis for $260 with shipping. Tops are fairly beat up, but bottom is guaranteed to be in good condition.
Is it worth picking these up now so I can use them for the last bit of the season or is it best just to wait and see what deals I can find before next season starts? I wouldn't hesitate if money wasn't tight, but then, when isn't money tight?
Deals are always better at the end of the season vs the begining. If you liked the skis go for it.
$260 with beat-up tops? Hmmph. Honestly, that doesn't sound like too good a deal. Clean bottoms are -easy- to achieve with an aggressive grind.
Sounds to me like it's time to demo some more. Demo until you find something you'd be willing to pay full price for. Then see about deals.
Demoing new and then taking a flyer on the condition of used gear, used gear that you likely won't be able to re-sell for a similar price in a swap, doesn't sound very good to me.
