We are taking a large group there for the first time and are wondering if we will be able to use our cell phones. Thanks for any input.

I can't speak for Timberline specifically, but I got a call on my AT&T phone coming down the main slope at Canaan Valley and had coverage on the valley floor at the cabin we were renting. They're only a couple miles apart.

AT&T works well at Timberline. As does Sprint. Not sure about Verizon....

Curih and David, thanks for the quick feedback on AT&T and Sprint. Since I have Verizon, I am hoping someone will post on that as well.

Verizon coverage at Tline is quite good. I've a number of conference calls from the parking lot. grin

But just down the road, Verizon's coverage at CVR lodge and the ski area is terrible.

At Tline Verizon works everywhere except the very top of the mtn...It makes no sense, but that's the only place I can't get good service.

Verizon works anywhere on the mountain, however, the data signal for texting, sending photos, & vid is weak at best.
