I broke my clavicle skking at Killington VT over New Years (the ice was brutal). I am wondering a couple of thigs:

- how to to fully heal
- how long until I can hit the slopes again
- is there anything to hasten this process

One doctor says 6 - 8 weeks to heal. The other says 8 - 10 weeks. I have almost 4 weeks down and am feeling the need to ski, but I don't want to make it worse by falling on it if it is weakened.

Don't push your luck. Bones take time to heal. Even after they've done some initial knitting at the four week stage, they really do need a minimum of six to ten weeks to strengthen back to near where they were. The reason for the range is that everyone's bones heal at slightly different rates. Follow your doctor's advice and lay off skiing (perhaps for the season). Your alternative is to risk rebreaking the bone and causing even more damage - possibly irreparable. I know its tough, but stick it out.
