What was this last weekend of skiing in the mid-A like? Wisp's webcams showed pretty sketchy snow cover.

Went to Snowshoe yesterday. The weather couldn't have been better...about 60*. Rode from 10 to 4. I don't know any of the trail names or anything but it seemed like most trails were closed, and there were about 5 actual choices for trails. The terrain parks were still loaded with features, most of which were closed. The long green trail on far skiers' right got very interesting as the day went on...there were a few places that required some ollie-ing practice to stay out of the gravel. I was sad to see that there were no bump runs opened and no bumps to be found ANYWHERE frown . It was a lot more crowded than Tline's last day, but no lift lines or anything. That's about it.

Woody, you know I have to gloat over here also! Cataloochee skied very nicely on Saturday, thank you very much. What would you trade for a Cat patch ?

for the record, both Cataloochee and Appalachian plan on opening next weekend as well.

Nice to hear there's still skiing south of the NEast, pagamony! Will have to check out the webcams for Cattle-ooochee and Appalachian.

BTW, I still don't have a patch from Cataloochee so if you have one to trade, PM me and I'll see if we can make a swap.

I was at snowshoe last Thursday and Friday. The weather was beautiful, too hot, really. There were two lifts running - Ballhooter and Powder Monkey. Most of the trails under and around those lifts were still open, but there were some bare spots and a few puddles. It was still skiing, right? smile Also, the Western Territory was open, but I didn't go over there, spent the days with my wife and daughter. My daughter made it down the whole mountain unassisted, except for a few pushes from behind from me to keep her going in the slow snow! this was her first season skiing, her third day, so it was a lot of fun for us parents.
