I've been lurking a lot here lately on TGR. This is classic...

I never thought I'd see such elevation on a rope tow ... or thouhght it would be a good idea to wear a protective cup whilst skiing.

I'm impressed that he could do that. Would have liked to see a video of how he got on.

Staged. But funny as [censored]. My comment censored? Prolly yes.

90% of the time when I take that tow, I'm whooped so bad, I can barely stand up for the entire duration. When you reach the towers, the rope jerks up pretty good. Never wuz stoopid enough to try the mega wedgie.

I pretty much only use the tow to come back to the GMD at the end of the day if I was skiing the other side of the mountain. Good thing that's the easy downhill side of the tow, because I am usually shot by then. I end up coasting/skating about 2/3 of the length and only grab on at the very end.

I use it almost exclusively to go uphill to Albion base at day's end. I take the bus and it is by far easier to load at the first stop and get off at the last going both ways. Going down, when I am usually too tired to stand, there is always a seat if you load at Albion. Going up I usually get a seat but no guarantees on a powder day. However I am never turned away due to a full bus, as are the poor slobs waiting at the later stops. If going all the way to Albion, you can stash skis in the back of the coral so they are less likely to get banged up and do not hold up folks getting off earlier. The ski/snowboard/pole tangles can be pretty impressive sometimes.

Maybe he was just "too whooped" to manage it in the normal way. Trying to lie down on the rope almost worked, hey worth a try, no? I used to sit on a jbar when it went over the towers. It would lift me off the ground.
