http://www.fsvisimages.com/doso1/high.htmlThis is the webcam view from Canaan Heights. National Wildlife Area + the 2 lift served ski areas in the valley, Timberline on the left and Canaan Valley on the right. As you can see the snow is hanging on remarkably well. If I were not needing to rest sore knees before next weeks Alaska trip, I'd be there.
A little dusting of snow today with 29 degree temps as of 1pm..been a dissapointing march & april snowfall wise..shouldn't complain though & the record is still intact & will be broken during another future EPIC year!...or have I spoken too soon.....
Denis - you are amazing! Have you always skied so much?
Will you send us a detailed report from Alaska? We might go there next March. Yours, Connie Lawn
Good question Connie. I've been living vicariously through Denis's posts this year. There is jealousy. Actually, if he gets it this good every year, year after year, I don't want to know. So maybe bad question Connie.
I'm sure he will torture us with detailed reports of skiing in Alaska. I certainly hope so.
Denis give me hope for my own retirement in ~ 25 years!
Ya Denis has been skiing like it's his job.
Good luck with conditions and be careful.
Dennis,
My deepest sympathies. Dick sounds like a great guy to have around.
Steve
I'm sorry for your loss, Denis and sincere condolences to your sister and family as well.
...sorry for your loss Denis...you will dig Alaska..bring your fishin' rod for sure...
I am so very sorry. God Bless, Connie Lawn
the snow was pretty awesome yesterday with the colder night temps. smooth buttery corn top to bottom on the drop and off the wall still. some big bare spots on sally so had to take ski's off a few times unless it was smooth grass to cross while skiing uphill. got to ski quality snow and mountain bike dry trails in the same day in the same 10mile radius.
Denis, I am so very sorry. Keep us posted. If you are still in a skiing mode, there is plenty left out West too - not as far as Alaska. Yours, Connie Lawn
I read the link and am really glad you felt so close to your brother-in-law. I'm sorry though for the loss.
Thanks friends for your condolences.
Denis
Sorry for your loss Denis.
Denis,
You and your sister are in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!!
The Colonel
Denis,
Very sorry to hear about Dick. My condolences.
My memory is a bit hazy, but didn't I ski with him last year at Alta? There were 3-4 of your friends/family there that day.
