I cant seem to find a good pair of hiking shoes/boots. Everytime my feet get wet hiking, it takes forever for the shoes to dry out and the socks are terrible.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good pair of shoes/boots and socks that will dry quickly after a stream crossing?

Hi Kris i picked up these Merrell at Cabella's. Pretty nice for rock scrambling and general hiking, comfortable, light.

Kris, I've been using these Vasque Switchback Gortex boots for about a year and a half now. I absolutely love them. I've spent all day hiking around on red rock and also all day on softer trails. Never had a blister and they're always still comfortable at the end of the day.

One occasion my feet did get wet, but that was because I spend 10 hours hiking in the pouring rain and my pants soaked up so much water they started leaking into the top of my boot. If I'd had waterproof pants on there wouldn't have been an issue.

If you can make it to Morgantown there's a great shop on Pleasant Street called The Adventure's Edge. They have a great deal of Vasque boots and hiking shoes. They are highly trained and will spend hours with you (if you need it) making sure you get the best shoe and the very best fit.

Hope this helps. Maybe I'll see you out there on the trail sometime!!
