You don't have to wait. I used to go to a meeting in Lakewood, CO in mid June every year and skied Loveland Pass each time. You hitch rides on Rt. 6, traverse out a short distance on the ridge, ski down and hitch another. Always leave your car at the bottom. Morning is best if you ski the Loveland side since skiers are going over the pass to A basin. In the afternoon ski the A basin side and get rides from people leaving A basin. About 1 of 10 cars/trucks will stop for you. Many are locals who do this too and it's considered good Karma.

Loveland Pass is getting pretty sketchy right now. St Mary's glacier (between Idaho Springs and Georgetown north of I-70) might be a better choice - although it is "hike to" only terrain.

Of course, there is always Timberline in Oregon until Labor Day.

Wow, that seems like no time at all. Where does the time?
