Now that the day are getting shorter and evening cooler and more and more are checking out the forums, it would be a good time to share our favorite apres ski location. The what, where, and the why. The full skinny on the place, people, and your beverage of choice. Maybe more than one at more than one mountian.

...that is easy...Timber's pub--the service is outstanding and there is nothing like a shot of makers in a plastic cup...

What? Bowls and beers
Where? The parking lot
Why? I'm just a poor local (wannabee)

What? Yuengling Drafts
Where? Foggy Goggle
Why? The goggle is a REAL bar at a ski resort, ski in/ski out, if you want a martini they'll make you one. Great drinking traditions like 11:00am Sunday Bloody Marys. Crowded like a good bar should be but roomy if that makes any sense. Great view of the carnage of the mixing bowl on the snow.

My favorite is BYOB at my ski-in/out townhouse at Wisp, especially sitting in my hot tub with a view of the skiers screaming down Odin's Chute.

Speaking of which, if anyone is interested in renting, here is a link to it: http://www.deepcreekvacations.com/rental/house.html?ID=80&User=alpha

It booked every weekend last winter, and we already have four bookings this winter. It's one of the best places to stay at Wisp. It has 3 BR/3BA and sleeps 8 comfortably. We are 30 steps from front door to the trail "Down Under". Here's a link to write-ups from past renters on Trip Advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRenta...y_Maryland.html

go 7S during a steelers night game, the slopes will empty. get some runs in then hit the google for the second half!

The Goggle is the place for Apres ski. Plus it must be good if the poster boy from the 2010 Epic Gathering says so. smile

At Snowshoe, Foxfire on the village. Second is the Junction as long as you don't eat there.

No, you're supposed to reply, "Honey, the attractive woman I'm standing next to is you!"

Shouldn't this have been in the first three pages of the operators' manual?

Tailgating is a fine tradition, ski in/ski out location available to the early snowbirds See you in the upper lots.

If it's too cold up there you can't beat the Foggy Goggle.
