What's New on the Slopes
September 22, 2010
I would like to start a new Topic to post news and rumors about changes at local ski areas specifically relating to what's on the slopes. I'm talking new trails, new lifts, new snow making, new ticket pricing, etc.
Every year you see announcement from the ski resorts hyping what's new that has nothing to do with skiing. I don't care they have a new spa or new restaurant or that some new dude is now driving the groomer. (Of course for Blue Knob that would be good news). I want to know when Hidden Valley is going to open their new area, or Seven Springs the NW Territory or Blue Knob do anything relating to skiing.
When I ski I want to spend as much time sliding down the hill and want to be informed on what's new that will make my skiing experience more enjoyable.
What do ya think?
Hey LTS Dad. Where do you mainly ski? Sometimes improvements are not necessairly obvious or even discussed unless major money has bee spent. Many of us who have home mountains are aware of upgrades which will enhance your experience on the hill. It may not be that new high speed quad that we have been praying for but it may be something as simple as pumping capacity to make more snow earlier in the season. Just a thought.

Live outside of Pittsburgh. Probably Ski 7 Springs the most but am sure to make it to Wisp, Blue Knob, Hidden Valley, Whitetail at least once a season. I typically spend a weekend up in New York for a day at Holiday Valley & Bristol Mountain and a Weekend at Snowshoe or Canaan Valley/Timberline.
With many of you living by the slopes you would certainly be the first to notice any and all changes on the hill that would be of interest to all. More snow earlier is a wonderful thing.
Did any one get their 1st issue of Ski Magazine yet. It's the one that always list the top rated resorts and mentions what's new at each?

As a fellow Yinzer, maybe we'll bump into you on a lift or 2 this season.
I should change my handle to "learntoskidad" as I'm still a noob.
